Feet/Arms. Cast aluminium polished to a mirror
finish with close tolerance machined housing mounting to beam element.
Arms can be chrome plated.
Beam. Fabricated from 3" dia x 10 SWG ERW HRPO
KM1 to BS 6323 Part 5. Wall thickness tolerance 3.01mm to 3.06mm.
Straightened after fabrication.
Body shapes. 2.5mm CR4 mild steel, formed to shape.
Seat and back body shapes are supported by 6mm thick mild steel
laser cut profiles.
Protection buffers. Seat fronts and back tops
incorporate a nylon rubbing strip that protects the upholstery.
Removable upholstery pads. Plain or high frequency
welded ribbing in PVC, hide or fabric upholstery material, bonded
to fire retardant foam. Tacked off to preformed plywood inner support
shapes, fixed to body shapes using rivetted 'T' nuts and machine
screws.
Beam fittings. Precision machined 'D' inserts
to ensure full contact between the arm or leg castings machined
seating, and the beam tube wall, secured with M14 socket cap screws.
The access holes in the beam are blanked with injection moulded
caps.
End caps. Machined from solid aluminium billet,
mirror polished with screen printed logo to face, secured to end
of beam by socket grub screws.
Table tops. Constructed from medium density fibreboard
(MDF) faced and balanced using decorative laminate, with polyurethane
bullnose moulded edges. Alternatively, table tops can be fabricated
from perforated mild steel with roll edges.
Arm pads. Soft arm pads covered in specified fabric
or moulded PU. Spacer bars. Available for maintaining the correct
distance between rows placed back to back.
Aluminium toe. A polished aluminium 'toe' with
a rubber insert can be fitted to the foot to help prevent slipping
and marking on polished floor surfaces. Tear drop floor fixing.
Can be applied when fix down application is essential.
Finish. Beam and body shapes: Metallic powder
coating based on the combination of epoxy and polyester, top coated
with polyester clear coating to give a durable finish, resistant
to finger marks. Alternatively, supplied finished to customer specification.
Strength rating. FIRA Special test specification
for stadium, auditorium units based on BS 4875: (1985): Parts 1
and 3 to test level 5, and structurally suitable for use as auditorium
and airport seating.
Fire rating. Ignitability test according to BS:5852:1990:
Assessment of the ignitability of upholstered seating by Smouldering
and Flaming Ignition Sources. Section 4: Methods of test for the
ignitability of upholstered composites ignition source 0,1 & 5.
Environmental considerations. These have influenced
the design. Each element is interchangeable and aluminium castings
and steel can be recycled. Timber parts are manufactured from renewable
resources while powder coatings are environmentally friendly throughout.
